Description
The balance of marine-origin water and lipids here is shaped as a precise skin-surface “hydro-reservoir”: moisture is drawn in, distributed and locked so that comfort is not a brief surge but a stable state throughout the day.
DR.
- marine minerals: provide a refreshing sensation and help the skin feel “calmed” without stickiness
- hyaluronic acid (different molecular weights): distributes the sensation of moisture both on the surface and into deeper layers, so the skin appears more even
- ceramides: support the sense of barrier integrity and reduce the “rebound drying” over the course of the day
The sensory profile here is considered no less than the formulation. The texture sits between an aqueous gel and a light serum: it glides quickly like a thin moisture film and within moments turns into a clean, non-sticky “finish.” The color is typically clear, with a barely noticeable aquamarine tint that visually reinforces the freshness association but leaves no shade on the skin. The scent is neutral or almost imperceptible; this is important because marine-derived components often have a recognizable aromatic “trace,” and here it is managed so that attention stays on the feel, not the smell.
The packaging supports this discipline: hygienic dosing preserves the formula’s stability and turns daily use into a precise ritual without excess. The visual identity is clean, a “water” aesthetic that communicates not decoration but the formula’s direction: transparency, lightness, concentration.
DR. ALTHEA as a brand grew out of Korean dermocosmetic culture, where the priority is not loud promises but clarity of composition and tolerant textures. Aqua Marine Deep Serum continues this line: the marine theme is not decoration, it is transformed into a coherent hydration system backed by barrier lipids so that “freshness” has weight and continuity.
In everyday use, it’s a serum that provides clean, stable hydration and barrier comfort without a sticky film – especially valuable when you want a light texture but a serious, longer-lasting sensation.
